"THE KING OF IN BETWEEN"
is Garland Jeffreys' first new album in 14 years. Ann Powers at the New Republic wrote: "This
record is as good a classic roots rock record as you're going to hear from anybody this year. And I don't care if Bruce Sprinsteen
puts out a record this year; I'm standing by my statement." Ben Greenman in the New Yorker wroter that the
new album "stays true to what made (Garland's) reputation in the first place...it's both humble and defiant, nostalgic
and restless." Garland hails from Sheepshead Bay
in Brooklyn and entered the American rock consciousness when "Wild in the Streets" became a FM radio staple
in the early 1970's. His easy fusion of folk, r & b, blues, reggae and rock influences, all infused with a New York City
sensibility and brought to life by his vocal stylings and dynamic stage persona, have earned him hard-core fans even
when away from the limelight.
WILLIE
NILE Time Magazine has written that “the tunes (Willie) writes and plays with such blowtorch vibrancy get
the myth and magic and danger and sadness and love in this town – of this town- truer and righter, than anything I’ve
heard since Dion.” Willie emerged in 1980 with two acclaimed folk rock albums only to be derailed
by legal and record company hassles. Over a decade later, thanks to the support of artists as diverse as
Elvis Costello, Lucinda Williams, Roger McGuinn and Richard Thompson, Willie re-emerged and in recent years has
recorded his most powerful albums to date, including 2006’s “Streets of New York”, 2009’s “House
of a Thousand Guitars”, and his most recent CD, “The Innocent Ones”. Willie will be performing
with his rockin’ trio and playing material from throughout his illustrious career. www.willienile.com
ELLIOTT
MURPHY & THE NORMANDY ALL-STARS Hailing from Long
Island, Elliott Murphy was born into a show business family and began playing guitar and forming bands early on. His 1973
debut, “Aquashow” was named after his father’s old stage show and was featured by Rolling Stone Magazine
as one of that year’s best after receiving high praise from legendary critic Paul Nelson. His sound has been described
as “post-Bob Dylan poetic rock”, with strong influence of the Velvet Underground. More albums and more critical
acclaim followed and with each successive album, his European following became larger and larger. Eventually, in 1989, Elliott
and his family moved to Paris, where they continue to live. He has recorded regularly and steadily throughout the years, and
continues to play over 100 shows per year. His appearances in this country, until recent years, have been
extremely rare. Now, they are merely rare. England’s Uncut Magazine, recently declared “Aquashow” an “Album
Classic”. Playing with The Normandy All-Stars is guitar great Olivier Durand. www.eliottmurphy.com Opening for Elliott are the young New York City rockers, THE SHAKE. www.myspace.com/theshakeband
